I am having another gtg this weekend at home. 2 families are coming. But the problem - one guy has high cholesterol. Two weeks back, when R went for his checkup he found the cholesterol level is high. A guy who is not yet 40, has 2 kids, works in Sun Microsystems and a very good friend of ours, and who does not have time at all for exercising. He can't resist eating, when he sees food. No control,LOL! Anyway, he bought a treadmill at home. Hope he will be regular in using that.
My problem is exactly what to prepare. S, his wife told me DON'T make anything grand. R calls DH and tells make something yummy. He is fed up of eating normal food.LOL! I am in a fix what to make and what not to make...(No mutton) Suggestions are very welcome.....

No paneer. Make Cholle, rajma, chicken (without cream), some potato veg, chapatis and simple rice. Make some fish item. Fish they say has not much bad effect on cholesterol.
Make few types of salads!!
If you don't fry the Paneer or Chicken and don't put cream, it should be fine. Put a little bit of Dahi instead.
I have a recipe of Dal Makhani that doesn't use Cream or butter at all (you can put it, but it's not necessary) but it's at home. I've made it many times and it's yummy!
You can also make Palak Mushrooms. Really yummy and literally no fats.
As for salad, Aloo Channa Salad is low fat and really great. Boil aloo and white chana separately (soak overnight). Cut aloo and put spices in it separately - red chili, roasted cumin powder, salt. Keep refrigerated until ready to assemble. Add boiled chana, chopped green chilli, coriander, chaat masala, lemon and salt. Really a hit.
Thanks so much for all the ideas!!
hi, came across your site when i done a google of “sun microsystems + kerala”.. but nothing in your blog to suggest u work in sun microsystems…
I am looking for a Keralite couple working in Sun Microsystems, USA.
Only info I know is that: the guy is from Alleppey District in Kerala. He was working in Sun, USA during 2002, 2003 etc… His wife also joined for work in Sun Microsystems after their marriage. Guy should have been in a little senior position there.
May be they are still working in Sun.
Can anything be possibly done to trace them? Any informal association of indians / keralites?
i wrote to my friend in mathrubhumi, kochi, but he said after enquiring with the advt section that they cant put such advts!! If required it can be put as a news, but i am not interested in that.
thanks and regards,
